Jan. 9th, 2006 06:56 pmMedia video is due in at the end of tomorrow. It still needs a bit of work, but is all coming along rather nicely. To be honest I'm surprised that its done to any degree at all, given the amount of problems I've (and Lucy and Kushbu...) have had with it. The continuity is well and truley fucked- Joe's scarf disapears about halfway through, his hair looks slightly different in every shot, and Chloe'sred beaded necklace mysteriously morphs into a stripey blue and turquoise scarf, and back again. I also think I maybe stretching the imagination just a bit too much by pretneding that a bus stop in Whetstone is actually the very near the same place as Camden Market, but whatever. Not much I can do about it now. And besides, we do have some really nice shots. Chloe looking sadly at the photo of her and Joe before ripping it up and throwing it into the canal looks really good, as does the bit where she slaps him round the chops (heheheh). Sof looks suitibly aggreived when Joe ups and leaves her, and some of the band shots work really well, and Emma makes a surprisingly convincing indie-rockstar. The whole story line is a bit different to what I had origionally planned (but then I guess we never were going to be able to form a realistic looking crowd out of about 6 people, were we?), but it also doesn't look too cheesy, something Mr Roydon was worried about. As Chili and Jess pointed out, it really is stupidly bright and colourful (apart from the black and white flash-backy bits, obviously). At one poit, theres actually a display of huge rainbow coloured umbrellas in the background.
Perhaps, once we've got our dvds of it, we could all have a screening of it with everyone involved with video there? that could be quite fun. I doubt Im going to get a dvd player any time soon, but if any one is willing to let it be shown on theirs...
Ho-hum.
So.
Video nearly finished, so expect normal service to be resumed shortly. Ie; normal Soph, as opposed to the violent, shouty, video director version.
