- On Saturday I felt the full effects of woman flu (runny/blocked nose, sinus pains, achey/shakey body, dizziness, exhaustion), so much so I almost didn't go to Watford. Come Sunday, I feel much better. Conclusion: sex, drugs and rock'n'roll are great flu remedies.
- I may have given the boy said flu. Sorry, David...
- Watford was fun, and charmingly scummy. Despite being dressed-down (by my standards, at least), I was still openly gawped at by groups of teens as I walked through the highstreet. Compare this to the next day back in Archway, where i saw a bloke with a flaming orange mohecian, gotee, mutiple facial peircings, slinky black satin frock and knee-high platform stilettoes, and the vast majority of people were 'politely' looking away and pretending they couldn't see him. He did earn a couple of cat-calls from some blokes smoking outside the pub, though.
- I had I milkybar flavoured shakeway with whipped cream and cocoa powder on top. Delicious!
- some American shouted at me, "Oh my God, you're with the band, YOU'RE A GROUPIE!", which amused me.
- The gig it self was quite good. i'd never really listened to the band before, but they're not at all bad. The bass player, Rob, spent the last song stamping on his bass before taking a running jump on to it, which prompted shock and worry from the band who had been on before, who were all aged about 16 (too young to officially be in the venue) and very sweet.
- I had planned to go to Rockabaret (flu permitting) once we had got back in to london and the boys had dropped off thier instruments at home, but we had all been getting steadily tipsier throughout the evening, and by about midnight the combination of illness and vodka and gin had meant I could barely stand. Whoops. So I ended up staying in instead. I don't recall much of what happened, but reading the message outbox on my phone the enxt morning made me chuckle.
- is it true there's only one more rocakabret at Sin?
- Sunday morning was spent with Dave watching a program about baby animals. Aww.
Overall marks for the weekend: 7 1/2 out of 10.
