Ok, so yesterday, I went to topshop with Nic to get her opinion on these trousers whihc I had fallen in love with. They were sequinned jeans, all-over sparkly and super rockstar skinny TIGHT. Topshop jeans don't use the usual 'size 6', 'size 10' 'size whatever' format, instead the label gives a leg and waist measuerment. So, I picked out the ones saying 26 inch waist, as that is my waist size. However, when I tried them on, I couldn't physically get them over my hips and do them up. I had met a pair of jeans that made me feel fat (much to NIc's incredulity). So, after spenidng 10 minutes getting out of them again, I tried on the 28 inch waist ones. these I could do up, but the legs didn't fit me as well as the other ones. I feel dejected. Obviously topshop jeans must fit a lot of people out there, or else they wouldn't be one of the bigggest fashion brands in the uk. But I know I was right about my waist size, because I measured it myself a few days beforehand. . Do I just have big hips in proportion to the rest of me? Do any of you lot have similar experiences involving topshop trousers? Does anyone have any idea how I could get them to fit me?

On a completely unrelated note, check out this artist, her work, I think,  is lovely: http://danacarlson.com

yes I know what you mean about topshop skinny jeans!! I have a pair of 26 inch waisted skinny jeans and they are really hard to pull up yet they fit round the waist! I think they based their tayloring on boys who dont have hips! x

I think it's not necessarily 28 inches, but their own size format. Or maybe they're just crap. I don't know. I can never get trousers *does not feel The Love*

Don't fear - Topshop clothes are ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS much smaller than they say they are. I'm usually a size 8 or 10 depending on where I shop, but I can rarely fit into anything smaller than a 12 at Topshop.

I think the trick with their jeans is finding a cut which suits you - they do come in a bewildering variety of shapes...
