A nice, happy, jolly entry for once :-)

2 things that meant my afternoon at work was thouroghly enjoyable:

ONE: Pete Dougherty came in to the shop today, and told me he liked my hair! I never really thought much of him before, but he was sooooo nice and charming and polite, and we had a nice chat, and he asked me how I was and I said it was only my second day on the job and he asked me how it was going and then when i was stumbling over the till and taking ages, he didn't mind and was wearing a lovely suit and silky cravats. I am now converted...

TWO: the most charming 19-month-old child ever, matilda, also came in to the shop today and was fascinated with all the colours of the products and she was wearing the cutrest purple glittery trousers! she was adorable, I don't usually have much of  rapport with very small children, but she and I played peek-aboo for ages, and she giggled and grinned and gurgled with delighted and it was so lovely!


so yes, that has been my afternoon. Hooray!
