What is all the fuss about this singing Duffy woman? I thought Adele had been generally accepted as the new super-voiced power diva teen thing for this year, but her blonde rival is on the front of today's The Times supplement for no discernable reason, plus on a nice trip to the national portrait gallery the other day, there was a big shiney photo of her near the entrance. And yes, she's very pretty and has had a number 1 song, but does that really matter these days? I thought the charts were supposed to be a load of rubbish now, seeing as all the cool kids supposedly illeagally download moosic nowadays...

O the fickle fashion of modern pop music. I thought "Mercy" was mildly catchy when it came out (although, yes, nothing Dusty Springfield hasn't done a million times better and more diva-tastically) but "Warwick Avenue" is absolutely terrible, particularly since I have a fondness for that particular tube station as I'm fairly sure I was conceived in a crumbling house very near to it.
