Earlier today I was walking through Friary park when I noticed a bench with a plaque simply saying, "In memory of my sister". How lovely and simple. No need to shout names and dedications, It seemed so private, almost as if the person doing the dedicating thought that her sister's death wan't anyone's business but her own. I wondered who the sister was, but it isn't my right to know.
Of course, I have no issue with peopel who want to put names and dates up publicly. It's probably what I would do, given the choice. but It was touching to see the result of a different approach.
